Who we are

Somoe Robert is the Museum Manager. She has been part of the project since its planning in 2017. Somoe works with Jamila Mohamedi, the museum’s Education Officer. Jamila welcomes the thousands of schoolchildren and college students who come each year to share a pride in their heritage.

The museum is supported by Trade Aid UK as part of their work in Mikindani.

The museum’s administration is under the direction of Trade Aid’s Project Manager, Emmanuel Mwambe. He is also responsible for the Old Boma, the town’s famous training hotel. Emmanuel reports to a local committee of teachers and elders.
