Creating Sustainable Employment

Help us Tanzania

The focus of Trade Aid's work is the town of Mikindani, situated in the southern region of Mtwara.

Poverty in Mikindani is endemic. There are very few jobs, no social security system and limited medicines. One out of every five children will not live to see their fifth birthday.

Hold a Fundraising Event

Trade Aid relies on monetary donations, so if you are holding a fundraiser, why not consider Trade Aid as one of your beneficiary charities? Money raised from school projects, Rotary Club donations and various other community fundraising events has always proved invaluable in helping Trade Aid to develop its projects in Tanzania.

In addition to community and private fundraisers, we welcome discussions from corporate sponsors who may be interested in holding fundraising events for Trade Aid.

If you would like to get involved, we will be happy to help you in any way we can with your event. Please contact us on +44 (0)1425 657774 or email info@tradeaiduk.org for more information.

Visit The Boma Hotel

Or…you could always stay in the luxury of The Old Boma Hotel, knowing that all the profits made from your stay will be put straight back into the community.

The Old Boma HotelContinuing our policy of supporting the local people we try to purchase as much as possible from local sources. Most of the furniture and decorations in the Boma were made by local craftsmen, and the uniforms were made by local tailors. As far as is possible, foodstuffs and services are purchased locally. By working in this way, your money not only helps us to provide a forum for local men and women to learn a trade but also creates a market for local traders.

A stay at the Old Boma Hotel combines the experience of a wonderful holiday of a lifetime with the knowledge that the money you spend is helping to provide the local community with a way out of poverty

Donate Time

For those who can spare the time to help out in Tanzania, there is much work to be done.

volunteer in Mikindani

The need in developing countries for mature volunteers who have professional qualifications and skills such as accountancy, hotel management and teaching has never been greater. Since its inception, sixteen years ago, Trade Aid has involved over two hundred volunteers.

They have initiated and perpetuated a wide variety of projects and have helped many individuals to develop their knowledge and skills in order to achieve a better standard of living for themselves and their families.
